Here are the purposes and activities of the foundation;
To alleviate poverty
by providing gifts, food stuff, breakfasts meals for kids and adults, including
Christmas gifts, and other seasonal and holiday gifts. The criteria for judging
who falls into this category would include

When at least one parent is unemployed or under employed
·
When one or both parent are recipients of some form of
government aid (ODSP, WSIB or welfare)
·
When the total income of both parents of a home is below $30,000
We will have
food/gift baskets donated to kids and in some cases adults, after school hours.

These kids are
located in certain areas of town, and though several efforts have been made to
reach them, these efforts can be augmented by the efforts of TDLF.
Helping sick kids
build hope and courage to survive by organizing hospital visits and donating
gifts and food.
Hospital visits:
1. St. Catharines, General Hospital on 4th Avenue
2. The Niagara Falls
General Hospital
Furthermore, TDLF
will liaise with organizations such as The Sick Kids Foundation, Heart and
Stroke Foundation, Red Cross and Father’s Place Niagara, to further target sick
kids and terminally ill children between the ages of one (1) year old to
nineteen (19) years of age. With the aim of figuring out how best to serve
them.
Improving
socio-economic conditions in the Niagara region by:
1.
Helping qualify and link people to/for The Red Rent to Own
program, to help fulfil their dreams of home ownership
2. Giving residents of
Niagara some free Credit information and free Credit repair services.
3. To offer finance and
financial management services for free to Niagara Residents. Services such as
credit counselling, debt and credit management,
We will hold free seminars
at 6250 O’Neil Street, Niagara Falls, |ON, L2J 1M6, and invite families that
earn less than $30,000 per annum, to take advantage of our free services to increase/better
their credit ratings, thus qualifying them for home ownership and or the Rent
to own program.
A team of 6-10
volunteers have been chosen and provided by Father’s Place Niagara, they will help
with the services that are needed at each and every of the activities of TDLF.
Most of the food stuff that will be donated are sourced from Individuals and
organizations. The rest of the food will be purchased with donated funds.
The foodstuff will
be stored at 6250 O’Neil |Street, Niagara Falls. Volunteers will use the own
vehicles to pick up and drop off the goods at the various locations of TDLF activities,
except when a special mode of transportation is required. We anticipate to
deliver over a hundred food bags a month. The Volunteers will also spend their
time at the hospitals, visiting the sick kids and playing cards with them and
singing to them. Services provided by TDLF will be advertised in local
newspapers and community centers.
